Okay the slope intercept form is y=mx+b
To find the slope or m
you take the y out of the second set of number subtracted by the y in the first set of numbers then divide it by x out of the second set of numbers subtracted by the first x of the first set of numbers it will look like this

7-5/2-1 or 2 over 1 or 2
so far you have y=2x+b
then you have to figure out b
so you plug in coordinates
5=2(1)+b
5=2+b
you take 5 subtracted by 2
so 3=b
so your equation is y=2x+3

Recall that the slope-intercept form of the equation for a line is: y = mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
First, find the slope using the two given points:

(x1, y1) = (1, 5)
(x2, y2) = (2, 7)


So now you can write: but you need to find the value of b, the y-intercept.
Use the x- and y-coordintes of any one of the two given points, substitute these into the above equation and solve for b. Using the first point (1, 5),
Subtract 2 from both sides.

Now you can write the final equation:
