Question 188321: Please Help. At the end of the 2001 football season , the Cowboys and Broncos had won a total of 7 Super Bowls. The Cowboys had won 2.5 times as many Super Bowls as the Broncos. How many Super Bowls had the Cowboys won?
Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Games won by Broncos: x
Games won by Cowboys: 2.5x
Games won by both:
Solve for x, then subtract that value from 7.
You could actually go at this directly and save the subtraction step at the end if you said:
Games won by Cowboys: x
Games won by Broncos:
Games won by both:
But that is a messier equation to solve.
