Answer by mastermath(14) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2(x+3)-5=x+7
First remove the brackets using distributive property
2x+2(3)-5 = x+7
2x+6-5=x+7
2x+1=x+7
Now subtract x on both the sides
2x+1-x= x+7-x
x+1=7
Subtract 1 on both the sides
x+1-1=7-1
x=6
