so we have 10 years between 1990 and 2000

we must find the increase per year.

since the increase is 350 cars over 10 years we just divide that by number of years which is 10
:
350/10=35

so lets call S the number of cars sold and it is a function of time t

........so our beginning year is 1990 and in that year they sold 650

cars.
