: x-2=(x+2)/4+5 This question is from textbook intermediate algebra

Answer by loni(3)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-2=(x+2)/4+5
now
x-2-5=(x+2)/4 *4 on both sites
4x-8-20=(x+2)
4x-28=x+2
4x-28-2=x
4x-30=x
4x-x=30
3x=30
x=30/3
x=10
prove:
x-2=(x+2)/4+5
10-2=(10+2)/4+5
8=12/4+5
8=3+5
8=8
