Question 176045: Problem:
{y=4/3x=3
{3=4x-3y
classify each system as consistent or inconsistent.If the system is consistent, determine whether it is dependent or independent.
What I've gotten:
y=4/3x+3
3-4x=-3y
and I don't know where to go from there. Do i simplify it more or do it classify it? Thanks much for your help!
Answer by Mathtut(3670) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the question is a little confusing because you have = where plus or - should be but I will give it a go based on you last set of equations.
:
y=(4/3)x+3
3-4x=-3y--->3y=4x-3--->y=(4/3)x-3
:
these equations have the same slope ,hence NO solutions. Therefore this system is inconsistent
