You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Remember:
Adult=A=25.00
Children=C=15.00
Total attendance =400, so A%2BC=400 ----------------------> eqn 1
Total receipts = $7200.00:
25.00A%2B15.00C=7200 --------------------------------------> eqn 2
In eqn 1 we get, C=400-A --> substitute in eqn 2:
25A%2B15%28400-A%29=7200
25A%2B6000-15A=7200
10A=7200-6000
10A=1200 -----> cross%2810%29A%2Fcross%2810%29=cross%281200%29120%2Fcross%2810%29
A=120 --------------------> no. of Adults attended
For Children, go back eqn 1:
120%2BC=400
C=400-120=280 ------------> no. of Children attended
In doubt? go back eqn 2:
25%2A120-15%2A280=7200
3000%2B4200=7200
7200=7200
Thank you,
