: can anyone help me find the answer.it is about application of linear system.the question is like this,a salesperson is offered two salary plans.the first gives a basic salary RM 1000 a month and a 5% comission on all sales,while the second plan gives basic salary of RM 1500 a month and a 4% comission.so if x is the amount of sales y and y the monthly salary,how much sales are required so that each plan yields the same total salary? This question is from textbook

0.05x + 1000 = 0.04x + 1500
0.05x - 0.04x = 1500 - 1400
0.01x = 100
x = 100/0.01
x = 10000
--> RM 10000
