Simply set the two values for y equal to each other and solve for x. Then plug x back into the original equation and solve for y. y=-3x+8
y=2x+3 becomes -3x%2B8=2x%2B3. subtract 8 from both sides, subtract 2x from both sides, and divide by -5 and get x=1. Then plug x back into y=2x%2B3 and then solve. y=2%2B3. Then simply add 2+3 and get 5. So x=1 and y=5.
