: Solving Linear Systems:
Use linear combinations to solve the system of linear equations.
3a + 9b = 8b - a
5a - 10b = 4a - 9b + 5

Answer by priya_2685(3) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3a+9b=8b-a
3a+a=8b-9b
4a=-b
a=-b/4......(1)
5a-10b= 4a-9b+5
5a-4a=10b-9b+5
a=b+5......(2)
comparing equation (1) & (2)
-b/4= b+5
-b/4-b=5
-5b/4=5
b=5* -4/5
b=-4
putting the value of b in equation (1)
a=-b/4
a=-4/4
a=-1
