SOLUTION -

Y - X = -3
Y = -3 + X ......(I)

4X + Y = 2
substituting the value of y from equation (i) we have
4x +(-3 + x) = 2
4x - 3 + x = 2
5x -3 + + 3 = 2 + 3
5x = 5
5x/5 = 5/5
x = 1

substituting the value of x in equation (i)we have
y = -3 + 1
y = -2
therefore x = 1
y = -2
