Question 13011: Help! Now that horrid instructor (just kidding) is using letters like they were numbers:
Ax+By=C, solve for y
So I tried this:
I gotta isolate y
Ax+By is multiplication so I have to divide?
Ax+B divided by y?=C divided by y
Nope-wait it's Ax+By-y=C-y
then divide both sids by Ax? I'm going crazy-can someone help? Thank you and sorry for the trouble
Answer by Earlsdon(6294) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The first thing you "gotta" do is to isolate the term containing y.
Subtract Ax from both sides.
Now you can divide by B.
There...that wasn't hard, was it?
