and if you want 9x+7, then you do not need to solve for x, but just add 7 to both sides here...

We could solve 9x-11 = 12 for x, and then plug it into 9x+7 to get the answer. However, solving for x leads to a fraction which isn't ideal.
Instead of isolating x itself, lets isolate 9x
We do this by adding 11 to both sides
9x-11 = 12
9x-11+11 = 12+11
9x = 23
Since we know 9x is equal to 23, we can then add 7 to both sides to find the value of 9x+7
9x = 23
9x+7 = 23+7
9x+7 = 30
