Let x be the angle measure in degrees.

Then the supplementary angle is (180-x) degrees, while the complementary angle is (90-x) degrees.

Then the problem says

180-x = 6*(90-x)

180 - x = 540 - 6x

6x - x = 540 - 180

5x = 360

x =  = 72 degrees.     Answer

The supplement of an angle is 90 degrees more than the complement of the same angle. Since we are told that the supplement is 6 times the complement, if x is the measure of the complement then

The complement of the angle is 18 degrees; so the angle is 90-18 = 72 degrees.
