This is a mathematics website, so readers' questions should not be dismissed because the physical or chemical problem is impossible. Clearly the intent of the problem is as a typical mixture problem, which is a mathematical problem.
However, your statement of the problem, exactly as you state it, doesn't make sense. You start with some solution which is 20% dye, and you add more of that solution trying to get a solution that is 50% dye.
But adding any additional amount of 20% dye solution to the original 800g of the 20% dye solution is never going to produce a solution that is anything other than 20% dye.
