(X+3)2+2X=22
2X+6+2X=22
4X=22-6
4X=16
X=16/4
X=4 MPH FOR THE SLOWER HIKER.
4+3=7 MPH FOR THE FASTER HIKER.
PROOF
7*2+2*4=22
14+8=22
22=22
