Question 1061822: what is the equation for the line (0,1) (4,-1) in slope intercept form

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Slope is change in y/change in x
-1-1/4-0=-2/4=-1/2
point slope formula y-y1=m(x-x1), where m is the slope and (x1,y1) are the points.
y-1=(-1/2)(x-0)
y=(-1/2)x+1 ANSWER.
check to see if both points are on it
x=0 y=1
x=4, y=-2+1, and that is -1
