The second of two numbers is 5 more than twice
the first. The sum of the numbers is 44.
Make first number = x
Second number = 2x + 5
Sum = x + (2x + 5)
44 = x + 2x + 5
39 = 3x
3x = 39
x = 13.
First number = 13
Second number = 31
