This type is useful once you see the trick. When the coefficients divide evenly into the constant, just set one variable equal to 0 and solve for the other.
If x=0, the equation is 2y=24, y=12, so (0,12) is the y-intercept.
If y=0, the equation is -4x=24, x=-6, so (-6,0) is the x-intercept.
