Question 1041214: What is the cost per handbag, if The cost of making 2 bags is $640, and the cost of making 5 bags is $700? Thanks! Found 2 solutions by Boreal, MathTherapy:Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! the points are (2,640) and (5,700)
The slope is (700-640)/(5-2)
That is 60/3 or 20.
Slope is 20.
Use point slope formula with either point
y-640=20(x-2)
y-640=20x-40
y=20x+600
use other point to check
y-700=20(x-5)
y=20x+600. The marginal cost per handbag is 20 dollars. It is assumed here that with 0 bags, the cost of having the materials and space is 600, and every handbag will cost an additional $20 with the fixed cost of $600 remaining.
