Question 103144: determine the point of intersection algebraically
f(x)=-2x^ + 6x - 5, g(x)=-4x + 19
How do you solve this?

Answer by Fombitz(32388)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The point of intersection is where f(x)=g(x) or in graphical terms where they intersect each other.
I'm guessing that for f(x), you meant ? Therefore if you set f(x)=g(x) you get:

I'm assuming you want to carry on from here and solve for x. Group all your terms together on one side and use the quadratic formula to get the roots of the quadratic equation. If you get stumped, please post another question. Good luck!
