Question 1030709: Find critical points of the following functions
F(x)=(x^2-1)^2
I used the chain rule and I got f'(x)=2(x^2)*2x and now I did f'(0) where 2x=0 but I can't find the critical points. I am not good with them. Can anyone help me?
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find critical points of the following functions
F(x)=(x^2-1)^2
-----
F'(x) = 2(x^2-1)*2x
------
Solve:: 4x(x^2-1) = 0
x = 0 local max
or x = 1 local min
or x = -1 local min
