Question 1010688: How do we get to know whether we have to subtract or add in simultaneous equations?
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The idea is to eliminate one variable and reduce two equations with two unknowns to one equation with one unknown.
Sometimes you add and sometimes you subtract in order to do this, but that is your aim.
