Question 175592This question is from textbook Strategies for Problem Solving
: In an exponential expression such as A=be-(t/RC) we cannot attach units to the exponent -(t/RC) because a base, such as e, can only be raised by a pure number. Consequently, if the variable t in this equation is measured in seconds, what does this imply about the units on the product RC?This question is from textbook Strategies for Problem Solving

Question 192162: I'm trying to measure (in acres) the area of a lake to determine how much chemical per acre to use to clear up some weed problems we're having... I used a satellite photo from googlemaps and then used the perimeter measurement tool in Adobe Acrobat 9 pro... Unfortunately, the new version of Acrobat 9 pro doesn't easily let you re-set the embedded scale ratio (DARN!)
So, here's my question:
The scale is .94" = 100 ft.
The perimeter measurement = 14.31"
How many acres is the lake? (I'm not talking acre feet... just acres)
If you want to see a PDF of the problem I can send it to you... if I had an address.
