Mixed units subtraction, sometimes need borrowing.
6 gal 2qts - (5 gal 3 qts), you can subtract the gallons but need to borrow for the 2 quarts.
1 gal = 4 qts;
6 gal 2 qts = 5 gal 4 qts + 2 qts = 5 gal 6 qts.
The subtraction can be done as
5 gal 6 qts - ( 5 gal 3 qts )
= 0 gal 6-3 qts
= 3 qts.
