Question 762787: I need help solving this . . .we are using a table to do unit conversions/analysis. I need to see what someone else comes up with to check my answer which seems way off. I came up with: If gas is 2.37 per Liter then it is $8.86 per gallon, and like I said, this answer seems off and it seems too simple that 1 gal = 3.74 L therefore $3.74 L x $2.37 gives the answer. Here is the problem:
On a recent trip to Canada the cost of gasoline was $2.37 per liter. What is the cost in dollars per gallon. Note: This means that 2.37 dollars = 1 L. Are they paying more or less for gas in Canada compared to the US? 1 gal = 3.74 L

Answer by josgarithmetic(39626)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 gallon = 3.7854 liters

Given 2.37 dollars per liter,
Changing to price per gallon goes as 2.37 {dollars/liter}*{3.7854 liters/gallon}
= $8.97 per gallon.
