1 mL = 0.001 L
so if u have
55 mL = 0.001(55) = 0.055 L
and if u have
6 L = (6/.001)= 6000 mL

Since 1L = 1000ml
1ml = 1/1000 L
So for example 50 ml = (50/1000)L = .050L
