We will go from oz to lb to kg.

By definition

1lb = 16 oz
1lb = 0.45359237kg

We start with 6 oz. Write that over 1:

(6oz)/1

Now we make a fraction to multiply that by so that
the oz cancels out and lb comes in. To do that we
make a fraction using 1lb = 16 oz.  We
put the 16oz on the bottom so it will cancel
with the oz, and 1lb on the bottom so
as to bring in lb

So we want to multiply by the fraction (1_lb)/(16oz)

(6oz)/1x(1_lb)/(16oz)

and as you see the oz on the top of the first fraction
cancels out with the oz in the bottom of the second fraction:

(6cross(oz))/1x(1_lb)/(16cross(oz))

Now we make a fraction to multiply that by so that
the lb cancels out and kg comes in. To do that we
make a fraction using 1lb = 0.45359237kg.  We
put the 1_lb on the bottom so it will cancel
with the lb, and 0.45359237kg on the top so
as to bring in kg

So we want to multiply by the fraction (0.45359237kg)/(1_lb)

(6cross(oz))/1x(1_lb)/(16cross(oz))x(0.45359237kg)/(1_lb)

and as you see the lb on the top of the second fraction
cancels out with the lb in the bottom of the third fraction:

(6cross(oz))/1x(1cross(lb))/(16cross(oz))x(0.45359237kg)/(1cross(lb))

So all that's left is

(6(0.45359237kg))/16

Then you get a calculator and you should get:

.1700971388kg

and you should round that to .17kg
