Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I need to convert 15 mi/hr to ft/sec.
----------------
change the miles to ft using (5280 ft)/(1 mile)
change the hours to seconds using (1/hr/3600 sec)
Each of these fraction = "1" so multiplying by them changes only the units.
----------------------------
(15mi/hr)(5280 ft)/1 mi)(1 hr/3600 sec)
= [15*5280*1 ft]/[1*1*3600 sec] = 79200 ft/3600sec = 22 ft/sec
