What a strange presentation of the problem. You don't give a speed; and you say we have to "make an estimate of one final piece of information".

Is the speed the thing we are to estimate?

Okay, I'll make it easy. I'll estimate a speed of 20,000 miles per hour; then it will take 1 day of riding (12 hours) for the trip.

It's rather pointless to tell us to use no more than 2 significant digits if you don't tell us the speed.
