6.548x10^-3=0.006548 The number is written, and the decimal moved 3 places to the left, the places filled by 0s where there is no number.
5.854x10^1=58.54
2.25x10^6 =2250000, the decimal is now 6 places to the right, and when the original number stops, the places are filled with 0s.
