Question 10329: Solve the following:
I = E/R + r for r
I understand how to do this if there was not a "+ r" in the equation, but I am lost when it comes to the "+ r". I don't know what you do with it. I think it would turn into a "1r".
I = E/r, then multiply both sides by r,and end up with the answer: E/I = r?
Please let me know if this is correct, of if I am at least on the right track. Thanks for your help.

1.X^3 - 8 = 0
2. X^3 + 27 = 0
my solution
1. X^3 - 8 = 0
X^3 = 8
X= 3root 8
X= +- 2
X= +2 , -2
2. X^3 + 27 = 0
x^3=27
X =+- 3root 27
X= + - 3
X= =3, -3

Question 11793: It has been 17 years since I have taken Algebra and now I am taking College Algebra. My instructor has given several problems that I can't figure out.
1) Find the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line through the point (-5,-3), parallel to the line 7x-6y=-1.
My work:
y=mx+b
7x-6y=-1
7x-6y=-1
-6y=-7x-1
y=7/6x+6
How do I coplete the problem?
Thanks

Question 13582: How do you reduce the following problem into A+Bi form:
(i/(1-i)) + ((1-i)/i)
I tried dividing the first and second part of the problem as separate entities but all I ended up with was ((1+i)/2) + (-i-1) and that didn't really help much.

Question 15921: Please Help this is DUE TODAY! It has to do with powers and radical numbers. You propose to build a space ship that allows the entire population of the United States (280 million) to leave earth. Your plans allocate an average space of 1,000(=10*10*10) cubic feet to each person. You space ship is going to have the shape of a sphere. The radius of you space ship is ?????? feet. The volume of a sphere of radius "r" equals (4/3)*pi*r^3
After due Congress decide to support your space ship if you provide a cabin with a skylight for each of the 280,000,000 passengers. Your figure that on average each passenger must have 100 square feet on teh surface of your space ship. The radius of you new and improved space ship is ????? feet. The surface of a sphere of radius "r" equals 4*pi*r^2.
You tell Congress that the space ship they ask for would have a radius that is ?????? times bigger than what you suggested and the volume (and weight and cost) would be ?????? as large.
Please Help even if you can only answer one question it will help. Thank you.
