Ok, your equation is -6 - 3. We'll be treating the minus sign like a negative sign. Remember that when you subtract two negatives, it's like adding two positives, except that your answer will be negative.
Try to imagine the -6 on the number line. When you subtract something from a number that's below 0, you'll go further down the line. Negative numbers are different from positive numbers. Take this for example: 10 is greater than 9 on the positive side of the number line, but when we head to the negative side, -10 is LESS than -9.
Having said that, here's the answer to your problem...
If it makes any easier, get rid of the negative signs...
Just remember that your answer is still negative because you are subtracting from negative numbers.
