Question 932861: x=2+5i or x=2x-5i
Write a quadratic equation that has two solutions.
I believe I am supposed to FOIL this after I factor it, however I'm not quite sure of the process to get the answer to this question. Would I do (2x-5i)(2x+5i)? Or (x-2-5i)(x+2+5i)? Do I even need to do any of that?
Answer by josgarithmetic(39616) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You might be hoping to use the two formulas for x as ROOTS of a quadratic equation. Form the factors of the quadratic expression and fully multiply these factors.
You might really be starting with this:
or ;
You had a "x" present which should not have been written there.
Your equation would start as .
Continue from that.
