Question 894079: 1 problem, no answer, and don't understand...
E=0.5 * Iw^2 +U (solve for I) ???
Thank you.

EDIT: Correcting a mistake:
Undo everything that was done to I, and do the same thing to both sides.

Additive Inverse of U;
Multiplicative Inverse of 0.5;
Square Root of both sides.
Multiplicative Inverse of ;
The formula for I should be done now.

What that means, is that to solve for I, perform these steps:
Add to both sides of the equation;
Multiply both sides of the equation by ;
Multiply both sides of the equation by ;
"Take" or find the square root of both sides of the equation.
Simplify if necessary.
You should now have the formula for I.

SPECIFIC STEPS (WHICH MAY VARY FROM PERSON TO PERSON)

, Additive Inverse of U

, Multiplicative Inverse of 0.5

, Multiplicative Inverse of w^2

Continue to simplify,
The division by is same as multiplication by 2...

More steps were shown here than earlier listed. I included them to give clarity
to the solution process. Many people, both students and those beyond students
do not always need all these steps because they are able to see through most or
many of them and use some number properties in their heads. Accordingly,
steps can vary. Look at the identification of property I show with certain of the
above steps.
