Solve using the quadratic formula: 5x^2 − 8x − 3 = 0
quadratic formula is
(-b+or-sqrt(b^2-4ac)/2a)
(8+or-sqrt(64-4*5*(-3))/2*5
(8+or-sqrt(64+60)/10
(8+or-sqrt(124))/10
x=(8+12)/10=2
x=(8-12)/10=-4/10=-2/10=-.2
