n + d + q = 36
d = q + 4
n = 2q
Substitute the 2nd and third equations into the 1st so that you have ONLY the q to solve for.






now plug 8 into the 3rd equation




now plug n and q into the 1st equation




d = 12
n = 16
q = 8
total = 36
