Question 417558: In the formula R=0.4x-0.0001x^2. What is the Vertex and can you show me how you got it.
Answer by nerdybill(7384) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
R=0.4x-0.0001x^2
.
vertex consist, of course, (x,y)
where:
x = -b/(2a)
x = -(0.4)/(2(-0.0001))
x = -(0.4)/(-0.0002)
x = 2000
.
plug in value of x to find your y:
R=0.4(2000)-0.0001(2000)^2
R=800-400
R=400
.
vertex is at (2000, 400)
