what are the steps for solving a problem such as (6-3i)(4+2i) ?
--------
Multiply the same as any 2 binomials.
(6-3i)(4+2i)
= 6(4+2i) - 3i(4+2i)
= 24+12i - 12i - 6i^2
= 24+12i - 12i + 6
= 24 - 6
= 18
---------
Or,
(6-3i)(4+2i)
= 3(2-i) * 2(2+i)
= 6*(2-i)(2+i)
= 6*(3+1)
= 18
