you have to F.O.I.L. this:

First 9*9
Outer 9 * -6i
Inner 9 * -6i
Last -6i * -6i

combining this into 1 equation and simplifying

(81-54i-54i+36i^2)
81-108i+36i^2

Note: i^2 = -1

81-108i-36
45-108i
