let width =x
height is 1 ft more=x+1
length is 1 ft more than height=x+1+1=x+2
volume =x(x+1)(x+2)=6
x(x^2+3x+2)=6
x^3+3x^2+2x-6=0
we find tht when we put in the above x=1 ,it is satisfied..thatis
1^3+3*1^2+2*1-6=1+3+2-6=6-6=0
so width=x=1 ft
height =x+1=1+1=2 ft
length=x+2=1+2=3 ft
