Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
solving for x in the following problem: 3(cx-b)+c = ax+d/a
:
3(cx-b) + c =
:
Get rid of the denominator, multiply equation by a and you have:
3a(cx-b) + ac = ax + d
:
3acx - 3ab + ac = ax + d
:
Add 3ab to both sides, subtract ac from both sides
3acx = ax + 3ab + d - ac
:
subtract ax from both sides:
3acx - ax = 3ab - ac + d
:
Factor out x on the left and factor out a on the right
x(3ac - a) = a(3b - c) + d
:
Divide both sides by (3ac-a)
x =
:
x =
