Answer by roxy9229(32) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-7x + 4x = 9
add like terms
rules of addition
opposite sign: subtract
same sign: add
take sign of larger #
7x-4x=3x and since the -7 is bigger, it is -3x
-3x=9
divide both sides by -3
x=-3
