Question 1057838: A pellet gun fires ten 3.00 g pellets per second with a speed of 530 m/s. The pellets are stopped by a rigid wall. What is the average force (in newtons) exerted by the pellets on the wall?

.
It is about and around this equation

Ft = mV     (or  Ft = n*(mV) "= 10*(mV)" )

("the impulse of the force is equal to the change of the momentum").

The momentum change is n*(m*V) = 10*(3*530) g*m/s.

The time is 1 second.

Therefore, the averaged force is = = = calculate.

But still keep in mind that the "real" force of one/each separate strike can be significantly different from the averaged force.

Because the interaction time can be significantly shorter than of a second.
