Question 1038735: Square root - 72 square root -4
In 1 problem the question is asking to simply both square roots together.
So do they just become square root 72i 4i which is square root 288i^2 which is 144(-1) =-144 but cant that just be simplified down further? Am I doing this?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt (-72)=sqrt(-36)*sqrt(2)=6 i sqrt (2)
sqrt (-4)=2i
their product is 12i^2 * sqrt(2)
That is -12 sqrt (2)
