Question 437291: Find the values of x:
|9x + 9| = 18
|-2x + 3| = 15
|-5x + -2| = 12
|8x + -2| = 10
|-4x + -1| = 33
|-8x + 1| = 57
|3x + 6| + 7 = 28
|2x + -3| + -7 = 12
|-4x + 5| + 3 = 30
2|x + -2| + -6 = -4
2|x + -5| + -3 = -1
4|-5x + -2| + -6 = 182
3|2x + -5| + 3 = 42
5|2x + 1| + -5 = 80
|9x + -9| ≤ 63
|-6x + 3| ≥ 39
|-4x + 3| < 11
|2x + -6| ≤ 16

Question 443443: 1. Sam and Max went to the Taco Barn for lunch. Max paid $2.66 for three tacos and a medium drink. Sam paid $3.70 for five tacos and a medium drink.
a. Use the information provided to write a system of two equations.
b. Use the substitution method to solve the system of equations.
c. How much would the bill be for one taco and one medium drink?
I need to show all work is this right?
3x + y = 2.66 (1) x = tacos, y = drink
5x + y = 3.70 (2)
2x = 1.04
x = 0.52
Sub in 1
3x + y = 2.66
1.56 + y = 2.66
y = 2.66 - 1.56
y = 1.10
Check in (2)
5x + y = 3.70
2.60 + 1.10 = 3.70
x = $0.52 y = $1.10
c. 1.10 + 0.52 = $1.62

Question 447772: Can you please help me solve this absolute value inequality?? :)
| 2x + 1 | + | x - 4 | > 0
my calculations are :
|2x + 1| + |x - 4|>0
|2x+1|>-|x-4|
square both sides
4x^2 + 4x + 1 > x^2 - 8x + 16
...3x^2 + 12x - 15 > 0
(3x+15)(x-1)>0
i use quadratic curve and got x<5 , x>1
