Question 990530: It's a absolute value equation .. How do I solve --> |x-1| = 5x + 10
Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
there are two cases
1) x - 1 = 5x + 10
4x = -11
x = -11/4
2) -(x -1) = 5x + 10
-x + 1 = 5x + 10
6x = -9
x = -9/6 = -3/2
****************************
x = -11/4 or x = -3/2
