Answer by MathTherapy(10555)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Write an absolute value equation that has 5 and 15 as its solution.
what I've tried:
-5|x+2|=15
and it was a "no solution"
all my equations that I try come out with a "no solution" meaning that the absolute value was a negative number
All day, an equation such as that will not have any solutions since an absolute expression can NEVER be < 0
Work backwards: You want the right side to be 5 or 15, so you can envision having 5 on the right side, which will become 15, or 5,
when - 10 is on the left-side, and which is:
This should give you values of x = 5, and x = 15. Try it!!
