Question 888270: could you please explain this question to me please convert |x|+|y| into piecewise expression for different values of x and y
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(x,y) = |x|+|y|

There are 4 cases

Case 1. ,

Then f(x,y) = |x|+|y| = x+y

Case 2. ,

Then f(x,y) = |x|+|y| = x-y

Case 3. ,

Then f(x,y) = |x|+|y| = -x+y

Case 4. ,

Then f(x) = |x|+|y| = -x-y
