Question 83241: Mixture Problem: How many deciliters of pure alcohol must be added to 60 deciliters of a 35% solution to obtain a 60% solution?
Answer by Nate(3500)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x amount of deciliters
(x(100%) + 60(35%))/(x + 60) = 60%
x + 21 = 0.6x + 36
0.4x = 15
x = 37.5
